In this stream, Jeff gives a lively behind-the-scenes look at the Digital Missionary Gaming Summit. He recaps a global run of four summits with nearly a thousand registrations and representation from…
Jeff Reed goes behind the scenes on the Digital Missionary Gaming Summit (DMCon), the fourth and final summit in a grueling four-conference season that drew nearly a thousand registrations from 85–90 countries. He breaks down the stats, teases keynotes from Layton Sizemore, Chris Thompson, Dalton Ruzica, Andy Mage, and Jate Airheart, and walks through the Discord-hosted conference format. Tune in if you want to see how gaming culture is quietly leading the church in digital missionary work — and grab the free registration before it closes.
Jeff Reed: Alright, hey everybody. That was a really awkward opening. My mic's not loud enough. Achoo! That's why it was awkward. Totally would... Achoo! I was like, no, I can hold back the sneeze. No big deal. I just have to sneeze right as the countdown hit five seconds. And I reached for a tissue and I had no tissues. And so you just probably saw all sorts of stuff. Awesome. I've always said that you get the unfiltered view here with the Church Digital Podcast. The live stream here, episode 365, 366. No, you know what? I said 365, but last week was 365. 366. Man, you're getting the unfiltered look today. Literally, phlegm flying everywhere on camera. Awesome. sorry it's as good as it gets hey listen i am i'm wearing my star wars shirt today or at least one of them okay it's not quite gamer it's it's really more probably nerd and if you're looking behind me there's all sorts of nerd uh paraphernalia all over the place my wife tells me that i do need to qualify myself as a gamer because i am addicted to this game right here Last War. I have spent way too much time daily playing this game right here on my phone. And so today, we're doing the last minute tease. This is the last tease we've got coming up before the last Digital Missionary Summit of the season, our Gamer Digital Missionary Summit, Digital Missionary Gaming Summit, DMCon. It's kicking up right tomorrow. Tomorrow. Literally tomorrow. I think Flat Cap is in the audience. Hey, Flat Cap. I know he's excited about the conference. He is saying, let's go. And of course, you know, he is giving the... Blue smiling face emoji. You know, man, it's like I say the same joke every week. I don't get why that doesn't transfer over to the software. But keep doing what you're doing, bro. It's all right. Hey, listen, I am very excited about what is coming up with the conference tomorrow. And so I want to give a sneak peek, a little bit behind the scenes, what we've got coming on. And then Leighton. Layton's going to be hanging out with me on stream Thursday. Man, celebrating, going back and reliving some of it. Probably going to have a session that we'll play as well from the conference. I'll just tell you in advance, this is the fourth Digital Missionary Summit. We did the neighborhoods. We did recovery. We did the European and now gaming number four. This is the one I've been least involved with. So that means it's gonna be awesome. I'm really excited. Despite the fact that I'm addicted to Last Wars on my phone, I really don't know that much or connect that much with gaming culture other than the fact that I like it when my kid plays Marvel Rivals because I like to sit back and go to sleep, take a nap, watching Marvel superheroes smash each other over the head. He started playing Overwatch. It's a very similar kind of... um uh pvp kind of interface and so like he started doing that as well and some other things but uh hey we do have sonic knuckles and tails jumping in saying hello and and good to see you man uh hope you're excited about the the conference coming up as well we're going to get into the conference here in a minute Just some teaser, some stats. Hey, you know what? Finally, now that I'm three conferences behind, I actually was like, okay, let's actually process everything that's been happening through this series, these four digital missionary summits. By the way, for the record, I will never do this again. Whoever said to me, and it was me, it was a little voice inside my head. Hey, Jeff, you know what would be cool? Let's do four summits in a row. One, two, three, four. Whoever said that would be a good idea was wrong. Probably not a good idea. It's been fun, but it's been exhausting. You know what? Thursday, I may just let Layton take over the stream, and I just may go to sleep on air and let somebody else, like... run the show, because I'm exhausted, y'all. It's been a hard stretch, but definitely excited by what's ahead. Layton, we have been unsupervised for the con, so who knows what may happen. Yes, you know, Daddy's given the keys to the store to Flat Cap and to Chino, to Andy, and they are having fun with it. Yeah, you know what, Sonic, I'm not used to YouTube streams. I'm more on Twitch than YouTube. That's fine. That's fine. This is not the face of a Twitcher. Or at least this is what people have told me. You know, you kind of look more like Santa Claus than the average Twitch person. And so, you know, I'll leave Twitch to the young guys like Flack App. Let them handle that. But really, I mean, the reason why the church digital is doing things like recovery and like gaming and like Europe and even neighborhoods. I don't want to be the face. I wanna try to figure out, meet new people, meet new opportunities, and see these ideas spread. I am much more interested in Sonic Knuckles' tales here, figuring out how to do digital missionary work in Twitch using the 500 characters or the 2,000 characters in Discord than for me. Yeah, I do think it's crazy. 200 characters? That's barely a sentence, y'all. And so yeah, you're right Sonic YouTube's interesting. It is what it is It's the general platform that we're using and I would love for you to dive in here And even through the conference start to get exposed to some new ideas. We'll get more into the conference here in a little bit, dude There's some stats. I'm trying to say at the beginning and I'm just so excited like the energy is carrying me pretty high So here's where we are. We had just under 1,000 people register. 1,000 unique IDs register for all four of the digital missionary conferences. It was funny. The average person by far... registered for all three, the first three digital missionary conferences, the Digital Neighborhoods, the Recovery, and the European. It's like they went doink, doink, doink. And the average person registered for all three of them. Probably, I don't know, 80-some percent of people registered for all three of those digital missionary conferences. Very few registered for a single conference. They registered for multiple at the same time. By the way, 85 to 90 countries. 85 to 90 countries represented across all of them. I had AI do multiple scans and it told me different numbers off the same data set. And to be honest, that kind of like, I don't want to be like, what you talking about, Willis? But it was kind of like AI scanning the same data set, and it's giving me two different answers. I don't know that I like what's happening here. So I'm not publicly saying either of those numbers yet, but it was somewhere, my guess is somewhere between 85 and 90. I believe that's accurate since it said it was 81, it said 85, and one said 92. Cool. All right. So that's 95, 90 some countries. I mean, this is a really fascinating global spread. What was unique was the gaming conference. The gaming conference was the only conference that people signed up for one conference. You know, this is what I really do believe this. In the digital missionary space, you get all sorts of different people trying to like, you know, sign up, trying to buy in, trying to be a part of it. And they're all at varying levels of starting out. The majority of them are starting out and trying to figure out what's going on. The gaming group, you know, and led by, you know, they've been around a while, right? You got XP Church. It's been around for a decade plus. You got Mark Lux Digital Church. Mark Lutz coming in very strong and organized. You know, insert in nerd culture, NCMS. Insert in Bernie with what he's doing with Reach and Twitch streamers. Like the... By the way, all friends love everybody in here, but the gaming culture understands digital mission work. I mean, I don't want to put a label by saying so much better, but I'm trying to figure out a word that is not insulting to everybody else that implies that gaming is better than you, but you just haven't figured it out yet. Like the gamers, they got it going on. And so I'm excited to gather some of these gamers together from a global scale to learn from, to celebrate, to cast vision for what can be as we're even ramping up to do more in the gaming space. I'm not just excited about this generation of gamers with Susie and Mark and so many others that are following suit. I'm excited about the next generation that's just coming along, getting started. uh and and seeing where it's at oh my gosh so much uh coming in comment wise uh we got flat cap just the elite coming to dm con I don't think I said the number. The current registration is 107. And you know what? Part of me was like, because that's significantly lower. That's like 25% of all the registrations for the other conferences. But you know what? I do believe this. I do believe that is a, you're going to see a higher percentage of people coming. You're going to see a high level of people bought in. on the gamers because gamers man like to to ben's point here gamers are tech hey ben how's it going man gamers are tech native gamers flat cap know the secret sauce that that's so good uh doctor uh doctor uh doctor battle is it doctor battle Is it really? Like, I see that in the comment. I had no idea you had your doctorate, bro. That's exciting. I don't think I knew that. Do I need to call you, you know, it's Dr. Harris. Do we need to call you Dr. Battle? Is that not the coolest handle for a video game, by the way? Dr. Battle? Like, is that not the name of the Sonic Hedgehog guy? Sonic, let me know. Like, what's the main evil villain? The guy that Jim Carrey plays in the movies. Is that not some battle-oriented type of thing? Last I checked, Taiwan is considered a country. I do want to validate that. Pretty sure. Sonic and Knuckles is saying, no, in fact, it's not battle-related. What's the evil hair coming out the side? Dr. Robotnik! Methos is coming in from the outside. Thank you! You see, this is how it goes. I ramble, and you are doctor, doctor. Tell me the news. I got a bad case of loving you. Oh, man, I'm just... All right, there is no script. There is no script. There is no script. Oh, I didn't realize this was live. I've been watching it on Discord. Oh, hey, yeah, that's great, because I posted it, and you just click on the thing. There you go. Kiwi. Maybe we got some time zones represented here. Ben, where are you from? Ben Robinolt. Are you American? Are you somewhere else globally? I asked that. There was a Ben. It was so funny. I ran the report talking about, you know, all the literally I imported in thousands of names in the chat GPT, like seven different spreadsheets of data from, you know, from our sign up from like people that that that took the back door in thousands of data points. And told ChatGPT to analyze everything. And it was so funny. It came up with a name of somebody. Excuse me. I had one person that was in Antarctica. And I'm like, I gotcha. I wonder, is it the penguin? Like, who is this? Who is the person that registered for the Digital Missionary Conference in Antarctica? I've got the name. I can't pull it right now. It probably wouldn't be right. But it was a Ben. The first name was Ben. And it's somebody who has been engaging with us in the Church Digital. And so I don't know if he's consistently like actually is in Antarctica or like he's a scientist that works down there or it's a code name for his penguin-like activities. Is Superman's kingdom, the ice castle, is that up north? Is that North Pole or is that South Pole? Okay, that's an important thing. What is it called? It's the... Castle of isolation, what's Superman call it? Literally, I have to know this. His secret lair, yes, is Superman's secret lair. What is it called, and what continent is it on? I really like James Gunn's Superman. I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not a DC guy. I mean, like, I, Fortress of Solitude. I was thinking isolation. Solitude makes more sense. Methos, thank you. What continent? North Pole is not a continent, is it? No, it's not. Antarctica is on the south side. Methos, I'm not sure if it's north or south. Methos, I expect more. Is there not anybody in the house that's like a DC guy? Somebody get James Gunn on the phone. Listen, if James Gunn doesn't know, listen, we... We all know the Snyderverse doesn't know, but James Gunn should know this. Dang it. Four conferences in a row is too much for you. You brought your rambling to a whole new level. I mean, I'm excited. I get to nerd out tomorrow. I get to not focus. I am not hosting. I am not doing anything. It's all Layton and Andy. So any complaints? I can't even, listen, for the European, all I was basically doing was tech support and that conference went fine. And listen, if there's a gamer who doesn't know how to do Discord, I'll be praying for you. Everybody knows how to do Discord. It's going to be great. Oh, wait. The conference tomorrow is going to be hosted in Discord. We are going to be talking all about that. I'm going to be showing a sneak peek on Discord right around the corner. I'm still trying to figure out for the past 30 minutes. No, I streamed late. For the past 15 minutes, I'm still trying to figure out where Superman's lair is. Can nobody ask chat? You know what? I'm going to do it right now. I'm going to do it on air. Dang it. We'll talk about the Digital Missionary Summits later. What continent is Superman's secret lair on? We are... Oh, it's funny. Let's see what ChatGPT comes up with. Because Methos is saying it's not a continent. Let me make this bigger so it's readable. All right. Superman's secret lair commonly known as the Fortress of Solitude is usually depicted in a polar region, i.e. the Arctic, because the Arctic lies in the northern hemisphere across multiple countries, not on a single continent. It isn't strictly on one continent. Ooh. What's the... Uh, yeah, if you have a particular version of Comic Movie in mind, I can tell you which continent that version places. Ah, you know what? Since you asked, ChatGPT, so nicely, what continent is it on in the James Gunn movie? It's located in Antarctica. What? It's located down south instead of the north? James Gunn to my ears. Thank you. Hopefully. I don't know. Was that helpful? I'm going to go and say yes, that was helpful. Although I don't. It's funny. Let me say yes. Oh, no, it did. Thank you for feedback. That's nice. Ladies and gentlemen, chat GPT. So helpful. All right, the good news is I can do this for like eight hours, y'all. It's going to be fun. I peaked at like 10 viewers, and now because of the Superman bend, like half the audience just left. They're done. Oh, gosh, Sonic. I like time zone conversions and numbers. I don't know why. why anyone would say that ever. But good for you. Okay, so let's see. 2.35 Eastern Pacific, 11.35. Actually, that would be a.m., not p.m. there on Pacific. All the other times look pretty accurate. So New Zealand, right now where Kiwi is is 7.35 a.m. There you go. You're good. I actually have a true story. I have an iPad right here underneath my monitor. And it's got the Apple Clocks app open. And on the Apple Clocks, there's a map where you can pick points out on the map, on the global map. And it shows you the time zones and what time it is at any given time. So it's always open. Literally, I have an old iPad that is just dedicated to showing me what the different time zones are. And right now in Auckland, it's 7.35 a.m., Berlin is 8.35 p.m. Moscow is 9.35. San Francisco is 11.35. I feel you. I love continents, too. I just, in time zones. Actually, I hate time zones. Time zones are the bane of existence. Probably had to do that since all the ice has gone up north. That's funny. Hey, so I hear there's a Digital Missionary Gaming Summit tomorrow. So what I wanna do here is regaining composure from the last 20-some minutes. So let's do a sneak peek here. Let's forget about ChatGPT. ChatGPT is so yesterday's news. Let's talk about gamers who are being digital missionaries. Excited about this. Excited about what's coming up for our friend Layton and some of the others. With it, so good. I like keeping track of games. I like keeping track on a game, the stats of progress, items remaining, and way more. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I agree with that. We're good. So excited about the Digital Missionary Conference. It is kicking off tomorrow, 11 a.m. U.S. Eastern. Global people, UTC minus four. I have no idea what that time is in your neck of the woods. ChapGPT is a great way to figure it out. If it is 11 a.m. Eastern in New York City, What time is it? Insert your city name here. And ChatGPT is really good at figuring that stuff out. But October 8th is going to be a busy day for Layton and the guys as they're rolling through the Digital Missionary Summit. So you can go to missionary.digital.com. Blow it up here even bigger. You can't really see it up here at the top, but missionary.digital slash gaming. You can watch this great intro video by Andy Mage. Look how good Andy looks in the studio, doing his thing, wearing the Love Thy Nerd hat, that shirt. I've got that shirt. What is the hat? I don't know. I'll figure it out. But inevitably, it is better with sound. It's not wired, so you can't hear the sound. But check it, y'all. 19 hours away. 19 hours away from Digital Missionary Conference kicking off. Excited what's coming up. October 8th, 2025. Cost is 100% free. 100% free, get out of jail free, land on free parking. We're not gonna give you $500. So free parking is not where you get money. Free parking is where you land with no money given to you, but we're gonna give you all sorts of free resources and connections. We've got a ton of sponsors that are excited to resource you with free tools. and you're going to be able to get this on Discord tomorrow. Excited about this. It's not too late to register for the conference. Go ahead and hit that button right there. Register for DMCon, and we're going to get you set up for that. dmcon is focused on ministry in the gaming world streaming in game and a sync streaming via there's a lot there gaming world streaming in game and asynchronous discord and the likes there how gaming becomes discipleship uh in game uh ministry doesn't pause when the game starts learn to disciple through gameplay chat and in digital presence Stream discipleship. Use your stream as more than content. It's your digital pulpit. It is your digital pulpit, and you don't have to sound preachy. Sounding preachy doesn't work on Twitch. Asynchronous strategy. Discover how Discord, DMs, and group chats can become spaces of spiritual growth for seekers. Tell you, man, this is good. It's coming good, right? All right, so we got Sonic. Sonic can't wait to get to the end here via TCD server or a different server. It is going to be on Discord. It is going to be on the Church Digital's Discord server. I'll do a screen share here in a little bit, but just I'm going to give the secret away for free. Y'all ready? Here's your back door. There is no back door, it's the front door. You're gonna go to TCD, no, I'm sorry, Discord. Open a new web browser, Discord, D-I-S-C-O-R-D.thechurch.digital. Discord.thechurch.digital. And that'll get you in to our Discord server. I'll show you where all the channels are gonna be in a little bit, but... Like, there's really no privacy for this conference. We're doing it in the Discord in front of everybody. Register, don't register, want to sneak in? Eh, come on. Come hang out with us at discord.thechurch.digital. By the way, you should already be signed up for the Discord server already. If you're a gamer. Flatcap may know. Flatcap puts our total... subscribers on our current Discord server. Cool. Okay, we'll keep rolling through some stuff. Keynote speakers, our own Leighton. I actually had to ask him one day. I knew him for years. I was like, Leighton, how do I say your last name? Because I've never really ever heard Flakap, never heard Leighton, never heard him actually pronounce his last name. Even now as I'm about to say it, I'm like 85% sure I'm going to say it right. But how embarrassing is it going to be when I say this guy's last name and I mispronounce it? Tomorrow, we are gonna hear Leighton Size come on and do one quest, one focus, zeroing in on the one you need to reach. One quest, one focus, zeroing in on the one. Who's your one? Who are you trying to reach digitally in gaming? Now, especially in gaming space, there's so many different subcultures. There's so many different sub-genres. There's so many different types of people that engage You really need to fine tune that one and at least have an idea of it. Does that mean that God can't do something beyond that? Of course God's gonna do something beyond that. But you know what? Rather than ready, fire, aim, let's be intentional on what we're doing and watch and see what happens. All right, Layton. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Layton is saying, I nailed it. Layton sighs. I agree. I thought for years, man, Sonic, I thought it was says. I was pronounced with Leighton says. Like, you know, S-A-Y-S. Like said, but with a S, like Leighton says. I think S-A-Y-S actually is a word. Leighton Size. I made that mistake. Very good. By the way, Leighton Size is saying we've got 791 members currently on Discord. How exciting is it going to be when we break 800? Can we break 900 tomorrow? It's going to be really interesting to see what happens overall. One size does fit all with Leighton. Hey, Leighton Size, what size flat caps does Leighton Size wear? What size flat caps does Leighton Size wear? I think that's a good question. Yeah, I'm not feeling that, dude. We got to let it go. Emphasis on says. Says. So it rhymes with Satan lies. Sighs, Satan lies. I think that's the joke you told me earlier, and I forgot about that. That's good. All right, but hey, Layton is not the only one we've got. We've also got... We've got Chris Thompson coming up from North Hill Live. I'm excited about this. I've heard a lot of good things. I've not met Chris before, but how will you reach them? And are you reaching them? Now that you've got your one, are you actually effectively reaching them? And what does that look like? Then we've got some of our Lux friends coming on. Of course, Dalton Ruzicka. I've met Dalton a couple times. Once again, I think this may be the first time I'm saying the dude's name live on air, and that's always dangerous. Ruzica, let's pretend. Dalton and then Andy Mage. Of course, we know Andy Chino here at The Church Digital. setting the table for community in stream and in game, and setting the table for community in Discord. What does community look like in these different spaces? Dalton and Andy are gonna be digging into that. And then, I haven't seen this guy speak in years. I'm so excited. I love Jate and excited to have Jate Earhart, Jate Live, the Jate Live coming on to talk about experimenting and improvement, experimenting and improvement. You know, one of the things that I love about the Digital Missionary Conference, especially the gaming one, is the strategicness of the four sessions where it all fits in. We've done that. pretty much with all the summits in this season but i think the thing that i'm really looking forward to is not just hearing the keynotes but actually working through exercises and implementing them in different in in their context not just um hearing talks with ideas, but taking the time in the summit to turn these ideas into implementation, mapping out through exercises. Who do we need to involve? What do we need to do? What does this look like? Like not just passing knowledge on where it's forgotten the next day, but passing knowledge on and making knowledge available become applet helping to apply it to become practical execution like we want to see change in the in ministries like yours gamers in your gaming ministry wherever you are and so come hang out with us and start to go through some of this exercise where we can give you not only practical insight but help you take some practical steps off that in the coming weeks and months to come well let's do this i want to not just give you a t let me see is there anything else i want to show on this web page we had that we had the keynote speakers why it matters every game is a gathering it's your chance every chat is a chance you're not just playing you're planting in digital spaces where others scroll past you're building a relationship that leads to jesus i love that where you're not just planting, you're not just playing, you're planting. In digital spaces where others scroll past, you're building relationships that lead to Jesus. And there's an intentionality for that to happen, for you to put that in place. That just is not a haphazard thing. Oh, I started discipling 25 people in... Final Fantasy. Oh, I started a discipleship group in Rust or Black Desert Online. Like there has to be intentionality making this happen. Who should attend Will Recordings? Who should attend? You? If you know how to spell Discord, if you've heard of Twitch, if you like using your thumbs to blow things up, yeah, come hang out with us. Will recordings be available? Keynotes will be recorded. And... and will be distributed, but it is so much better. The conference experience is so much better when it happens live. And so come be a part of the conference live. I tell you what, this may be my favorite part of the conference, actually. These are the number of organizations that are excited about what's happening globally through the church digital, through our initiatives in gaming, in the metaverse, in care. um you know different countries and outposts and equipping people to be digital missionaries like there is a lot of energy that's going into the conferences and and really there's an incredible opportunity to connect with these these sponsors who have resources many of them free to help you be a better digital missionary even in gaming space i was talking with somebody today and and i i literally i i said to the person if i was a gamer in today's space i would invest twenty dollars a month into your product Like, if I was a gamer digital missionary, 20 bucks a month would be a no-brainer to invest in the product. And I'm not going to say who. It'll hopefully come up, if not tomorrow, at some point soon. But there are incredible resources across our sponsors here. And I'm excited that we get to bring that to gamer space and beyond in the days to come. All right, so that's it. That's not it. We're just kicking off. Let me push this button and let's shift over. Okay, let's shift over and talk through Discord for a second. So I've got, so this is the Church Digital's Discord server. So what I did, and you all know Discord. Can I do this? The answer is yes. Yes, I can. So we're watching. So you can subscribe to our Discord server. Discord, D-I-S-C-O-R-D. If you can't spell it, I just did for you. Discord.thechurch.digital. It'll redirect you to the subscription link. If for some reason you're watching this video and you're like, I don't have a Discord account. Go to discord.thechurch.digital. It'll redirect you to a place to log in or create an account. And then it'll redirect you to our server. either way it's going to get you connected to our discord uh server and you know what i don't know if you guys can see it today because some of it may just be now uh but there's an entire section of channels that are open here for it for the conference and so The keynote stage, speaker rooms are available after the talk to go in and talk to a speaker and ask questions. There are sponsor rooms that are available from all of our sponsors, general DMCon chatter and DMCon info as well. And then, of course, then there's just general chat and things that are happening as a result of what's going on with... the the server in general here at the church digital uh us uh mi casa su casa uh us casa su casa i don't know how to actually say all that but uh looking here uh flat cap is saying that all of this will open up tomorrow so you can't see it now you can go ahead and check it out you know what go ahead and subscribe now on tuesday make sure you got access to the server Go ahead and poke around, scroll the channel. Maybe introduce yourself in the Introduce Yourself channel that's here. Right here, go ahead and introduce yourself. Or click on General Chat and say how awesome Jeff is and like the YouTube video of me streaming live. You won't watch me break the internet. Let's see if I can click this. Oh my gosh, I am actually talking and you're watching me stream to the thing that I'm streaming and the thing I'm streaming in. I'm doing it. It's about a six second delay. Can you hear me? Like, is this actually happening right now? This is so cool. It's like inception. I'm looking, I'm the dream within a dream within a dream. This is so good. All right, this is going to stop at some point. I'm going to go ahead and stop it. I think this is much cooler than evidently anybody else's because I'm not hearing it. But Methods is saying right here to go ahead and get your Discord profile set up if you're new to Discord. I do appreciate that. Flatcap says there's no sound. would have been good to know 20 seconds ago i appreciate the delay in the situation but it's okay in my ears i could totally hear myself with about six seconds delay it looked really cool it sounded really cool but um yeah that's okay Seriously, though, get set up on your Discord server. Get an account and get subscribed to our server. Go to discord.thechurch.digital to get your account and to get subscribed to our server. If you know what WhatsApp is and you ever used WhatsApp, Discord's a little more complicated. Discord may be the Tesla to the WhatsApps. geo i mean i don't know a toyota it's a lot more uh feature uh heavy on discord layton is saying there is a vod uh for discord if you are new and so if you're looking for that uh where did you put that announcements no q a Yes. Here in Q&A, here's how to navigate a Discord. And so you subscribe to the Discord server, the Church Digital here, you click on that, and then you can go to Q&A, and it's right there. Easy to get clicked into and engaged. Cool? That's going to be it tomorrow. We've got four keynotes. We've got a series where breakouts are gonna be tied to the keynotes and exercises. I'm excited about the conference. I'm excited about the after conference, the post party, the reliant post party. So excited about seeing what's gonna come up with that and all the, this is how uncool I am wearing my nerdy shirt. I started to say shenanigans. um shenanigans was said in wanda vision as that's what wanda called uh mary tyler moore and all the shenanigans that was going on in the mary tyler moore show and so i would suggest that shenanigans is not a dorky word as much as but then again wanda was in the in the what country was she from in the wandavision show um that was actually the one that got blown up anyway so maybe it is a little nerdy because the little international girl said it but she was really cute you know when she was like eight and turned before she turned evil but then again all kids are cute when they're eight before they all eventually turn evil Come hang out with us at the conference tomorrow, and you're going to hear probably better logic than mine through the conference overall from Leighton and Andy and everybody involved, Chris and everybody else that's speaking, Jate and whoever else I skipped in that. But wait, there's more. All right, so let me push that button. Let me come back to here. Here's what I... Oh, I didn't realize I was going to move that like that. Sorry. All right, here's what I really need from you. I still can't believe the Fortress of Solitude was in fact in Antarctica. I really thought it was in the North Pole because... Wouldn't it be funny if there was like an Easter egg of like Santa Claus in James Gunn's movie? Wouldn't it have been funny if Santa Claus was... What was the name of the actor who was in... I can totally see his face right now. He's the dancer. He was in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy, the Christmas movie. Why can't I think of this guy's name? He's from Dirty Dancing, the male lead. This is why... I don't even know what to say at this point. Hey, this is what I need from you all, the three people that have not given up on me today in this conference. missionary, sharing.missionary, share, S-H-A-R-E.missionary.digital. Share, S-H-A-R-E.missionary.digital. Kevin freaking Bacon. Why could I not come up with, I'm literally, I'm like the five degrees of what's that guy's name? I could not come up with Kevin Bacon. Conference season, yo, I'm exhausted. Here's what I need. Go to share, S-H-A-R-E, .missionary.digital, share.missionary.digital. And this is good. We've created all sorts of gaming, all sorts of media assets. for you to share with others, to get the word out. And so some of their, especially if you click on the gaming one for October 8th, here's some graphics and some social media posts that are right up your alley to help people get connected to this conference. All right. This is important. I apologize. I was not aware of this fact. Kiwi is correcting me. Kevin was in Footloose. Patrick Swayze was in Dirty Dancing. My fault. In fairness, I do have a degree in film. I actually have a degree, a college degree where I am in film criticism. So I should have known that Kevin, sorry to say Kevin Spacey, Kevin Bacon was in Footloose and Patrick Swayze was in Dirty Dancing. That being said, the film major over here, film criticism, honest to God, has never seen either of those movies. True story. Married 25 years and my wife has never said to me, hey Jeff, why don't we see, insert movie name here, I for one feel blessed. Maybe I'm wrong. All right, so this is what I need from you, is to download some of these media assets that we've got here on the screen, copy and paste some of these social media, and get people connected to Missionary Digital slash gaming. Missionary Digital slash gaming. Or if it's day of, just invite them to the Discord server. Remember, it's Discord, D-I-S-C-O-R-D dot thechurch.digital. Discord.thechurch.digital. Is Kevin Bacon related to Chris P. Bacon? I wish I had my drum roll working. It probably is. I haven't tested it, though. And I don't want to look stupid again by not having any audio. So thank you, Chris P. Bacon. You know, the funny thing was I see it on the screen and I put it up. And I could not, I didn't get the joke until I read it, like audibly read it. I looked at it and I was like, who's Chris Bacon? Thank you. Kiwi, Kevin Bacon is related to everyone within six degrees. Probably. Yeah, I don't know that I can argue with that. I don't know that I want to argue with that. Yeah, well done, Methos. Well done. Well done, Sonic. That was Chris P. Bacon. You know what? I'm just going to leave that on the screen. That's worthy. Oh, it cleared it right as I did that. That is worthy of a salute. Chris P. Bacon. All right. Hey, I hope you're excited as much as I am about the upcoming summit. Actually, I'll probably wrap it up about this time tomorrow. It's on the shorter side, which is good. I know that they are. I know that they're excited about putting it together and getting it going. I am going to sleep great tonight because I'm stress free. Hopefully Leighton and Andy. I get a feeling, I don't think there's a lot of last minute stress on this one, but definitely excited about the road that's ahead on the gaming side. So give it up for Leighton. Hit him up in Discord. Join our server and hats off, whether flat or not, to Chris P. Bacon. All right, and so with that, I honestly, I don't know how to follow it, so I'm gonna land the plane. For episode 366, for Leighton, for Andy, for Chris P. Bacon, and everybody else that's part of the Bacon family. Methos. Short-term memory, what conference start time? Missionary Digital slash gaming will tell you it starts at 11 a.m. 11 a.m. Eastern, U.S. Eastern, UTC minus four. That is when the conference starts, which means that would be 3 p.m. on the dateline. And then Greenwich meantime, I guess, because I think UTC is at zero, plus two, wherever you're going after that. Thanks, yo. All right. For Leighton, for Andy, for everybody else that's part of the conference, for Methos' short-term memory and Crispy Bacon and the rest of Crispy's family. Thanks for hanging out with us here at the stream. We'll see you tomorrow at the Digital Missionary Gaming Summit. Y'all have a good one.
