Leighton Seys: those of us who are in digital ministry, it's not like it's new to digital ministry. It's always been a thing with groups. If people are breaking confidentiality, you break trust, the group breaks down, and you don't have any benefit or anything coming out of it. So it's just one of those things that we do want to say up front, because if you don't have that trust factor built in of confidentiality, how do I know I can actually trust this group with the things that I like? Sure, I can address my symptoms because you can see my symptoms. OK, so if I have drinking, I have compulsive, I have, you know, whatever coping mechanism I'm using. Yeah, you can see that. But I don't know if I want to expose why I do that and the hurt I'm covering up unless I trust you. So confidentiality is the key to making sure that everyone can actually believe that they're going to be safe when they share what's really underneath.
