Ashley and Andy are back. And they’re not playing.

Season 2 of The Hybrid Disciple premieres Tuesday, February 13th — and if you slept on Season 1, now’s the time to wake up. This podcast sits at one of the most important intersections the church faces right now: digital life and physical discipleship. Not one or the other. Both. Together. That’s the whole point.

Why “Hybrid” Still Matters (Maybe More Than Ever)

Here’s the uncomfortable truth church leaders need to sit with: most of your congregation already lives a hybrid life. They worship on Sunday morning and scroll through competing worldviews by Sunday afternoon. They pray in small group and doom-scroll before bed. They’re not choosing between digital and physical — they’re navigating both, usually without any discipleship framework to help them do it faithfully.

The Hybrid Disciple exists to close that gap.

Season 2 doubles down on this mission. Ashley and Andy are going deeper into the complexities of faith in a tech-driven world — and they’re bringing guests along for the ride. Influencers, practitioners, and thinkers from the faith, discipleship, and tech space are lined up to challenge your assumptions and expand your toolkit.

What’s Actually Coming in Season 2

The thin version of this announcement left you with bullet points that never loaded. Let’s fill that in.

Gospel conversations in digital spaces. How do you actually share your faith on Instagram, in Discord servers, in comment sections? Not theory — real tactics, real conversations, real results. Season 2 tackles the mechanics of being a missionary in the feeds.

Theology of digital. Before you can act wisely online, you need to think clearly about what digital space even is. Is your Instagram profile a mission field? Is a Zoom small group a real church gathering? These aren’t abstract questions — the answers shape everything about how you lead.

Hybrid church models that actually work. Not every church that went online during COVID figured out how to stay online well. Season 2 features leaders who’ve built sustainable hybrid communities — and they’re sharing what they learned the hard way so you don’t have to.

The loneliness problem. Digital natives are the most connected and most isolated generation in history. The church has a massive opportunity here. Season 2 explores how to leverage digital tools to create the kind of belonging people are desperately searching for.

Who This Season Is For

If you’re a church leader trying to figure out how to reach people who won’t set foot in a building — this is your resource. If you’re a digital missionary already doing the work in online spaces but feeling isolated from theological grounding — this is your community. If you’re a digital native who loves Jesus but finds traditional church formats disconnecting — this is your permission slip to explore something different.

As Paul wrote to the Corinthians, he became “all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some” (1 Corinthians 9:22). That’s not compromise — that’s incarnational strategy. Meeting people where they actually are. That’s what hybrid discipleship looks like in practice.

How to Actually Engage (Not Just Listen)

Subscribing isn’t enough. Here’s how to get the most out of Season 2:

  1. Subscribe now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you listen — so Episode 1 drops straight into your feed on February 13th.
  2. Bring your questions. Drop a burning question about digital discipleship in the comments below. Ashley and Andy may address it in an upcoming episode. Your question might be the one that unlocks something for thousands of other listeners.
  3. Share the premiere. Know a pastor wrestling with hybrid church? A church planter trying to build community online? Send them this. Season 2 is genuinely useful — not just inspirational.
  4. Follow on social. That’s where the exclusive content, episode updates, and community conversation happens between episodes.

The Journey Starts February 13th

The church doesn’t get to opt out of the digital world. It’s already here. The only question is whether you’ll engage it with intention — or keep hoping your congregation figures it out on their own.

Season 2 of The Hybrid Disciple is your co-pilot for that journey.
