DJ Soto is the founder and bishop of VR Church (Virtual Reality Church) and MMO Church, a pioneering church expression that gathers and disciples people inside virtual reality and online games. He began preaching in VR in 2016, holding what is widely regarded as the first known worship service inside virtual reality, and has since planted church expressions across virtual worlds including Final Fantasy XIV, Black Desert Online, and Rust. Before VR ministry he taught high school, worked in broadcast television, and launched a multisite campus for a Pennsylvania megachurch. He contributed to The Church Digital on getting started in VR and is a recurring voice in its podcasts on virtual and metaverse church.
