Alan Hirsch is an Australian missiologist widely regarded as one of the leading thinkers in the missional church movement. Born in South Africa and raised Jewish, he moved to Australia in 1983 and has spent 35+ years in Christian ministry, developing the influential APEST framework drawn from Ephesians 4:11 and authoring more than 20 books including The Forgotten Ways and 5Q: Reactivating the Original Intelligence and Capacity of the Body of Christ. He is the founder of Forge Mission Training Network, 100Movements, Future Travelers, and 5Q Collective, and holds adjunct faculty positions at Wheaton College, Asbury Seminary, and Fuller Seminary.
